Jurassic World Ride Opens At Universal Studios Hollywood

While the third Jurassic World film won’t begin shooting until next year, a brand new ride based on the film recently opened at Universal Studios Hollywood. Stars of the franchise Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard were in attendance.

Colin Trevorrow who directed the first Jurassic World and will return to direct the upcoming installment was also at the event. Both Trevorrow and Howard spoke with Variety at the ride’s opening, you can check out what they had to say below.

Colin Trevorrow:

“I used to sneak onto this ride. Don’t tell anyone at the studio, but they used to have this door over there that was just open. For about 10 years, I was struggling screenwriter and then I would come to meetings here and you could go through this door and ride the ride and I would do it all the time.”

Bryce Dallas Howard:

“I honestly think the last time that I rode it was probably when I was 13 years old, honestly…sometime in the 90s,” Howard recalled. “[But] we rode the ride this morning and, I mean it’s the craziest thing. First of all, to also like be on a ride and then suddenly you look in and there’s a screen and that’s your face and your friend’s face…so it’s, it’s pretty wild.”

Trevorrow also commented of the possibilty of Jurassic Park stars such as Jeff Golblum, Sam Neill, and Laura Dern being part of Jurassic World 3. You can check out what he had to say below.

“I can confirm nothing, but nothing would make me happier than to be able to work with any of those people.”

As for the upcoming film being the last Jurassic World, Trevorrow had the following to say.

“I’m kind of a one movie at a time kind of guy, so my eyes are on this one. And it’s a celebration of everything that has existed in the franchise up until now.”

Always loved the franchise, which admittedly has had it’s ups-and-downs but always delivers on an entertaining adventure involving dinosaurs. The third Jurassic World film will see dinosaurs out in the world, though as Trevorrow has said previously, encounters will be rare, but possible.

Jurassic World 3 currently has a release date of June 11, 2021.
