Well, the Flash movie may have lost Billy Crudup as Henry Allen (for now), but it seems like he’ll still have an appearance intact in the upcoming Justice League film.

Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot for the upcoming DC flick, and in it, we get to see Barry reaching out to his dad for advice. His dad gives a warm, yet somber, “You can be whatever you want to me. You’re brilliant, man.”

It’s a small moment, but it does seem to reveal a whole lot about the relationship between the two. It makes it all the more disappointing that Billy Crudup couldn’t reprise his role in the upcoming Flash movie.

That being said, when he was last rumored to have dropped out of the film, the overall status was still up in the air. Now, we know that it will be a Flashpoint film, and if current rumors are accurate, we are well on our way to having a new director announced. Perhaps with that in mind, and the schedule solidified, it’ll be enough to bring Crudup back into the mix.

Regardless, I look forward to seeing how the relationship is portrayed in the film itself, as short a time as it may be.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
