Last week’s biggest story was definitely the confirmed release of the Justice League Snyder Cut. And when the announcement was made, several fans and journalists speculated whether it could lead to more movies in the DCEU? Movies that were part of the Snyder-verse, such as a Justice League sequel?
Well according to the latest from top scooper Umberto Gonzalez, that’s not going to happen. Gonzalez was speaking on The Wrap’s podcast and said this when it comes to any sequel opportunities.
“This movie is basically one and done,” he explains. “This is to…close the loop, to finish the story. Maybe not the whole story, cause he did have like a three to five-picture plan. But this Snyder-verse, I’ll call it, will end with the Snyder Cut. Don’t expect any spinoffs for Batman or with Ben Affleck as Batman or any of that.”
Of course, we will keep this is a rumor for now, but Gonzalez seems pretty confident this won’t happen. I wonder how much fan power could effect this decision though? What if the Justice League Snyder Cut is hailed by fans and critics alike? I’m not saying it will be, just a what if scenario. Surely if the appetite from fans is hungry enough, WB would have to consider making Justice League 2? Though, that’s probably more complicated than it seems.

The truth is, I tend to agree with Gonzalez anyway. I do not think we will ever see Snyder direct another DCEU movie, and I’m ok with that. Snyder’s movies haven’t really worked for this fan, as I simply didn’t like his version of Superman and Batman. I’ll watch this version of Justice League, but I was never that pleased with Snyder’s set-up to begin with.
