Justice League: The Snyder Cut Runtime May Be LONGER Than 214 Minutes!

Jim lee Confirms No Plans For SnyderVerse Going Forward At DC

How long will the Justice League Snyder Cut runtime be?

There is a lot of pressure on the Justice League Snyder Cut. It’s been a long time coming. After years of a call to release from fans, we will eventually see it on our TV screens on HBO Max. It’s one thing to see a film hit theaters, but it’s another to see a different version of the film after that version has been hyped up for years. But, in addition to an overall pressure in terms of quality, there’s also a pressure of length.

Yes, it sounds stupid, but I know there are plenty of fans who would be disappointed if the movie ended up under three hours long. For years, it’s been touted that three and a half to four hours was a possibility. Excessive? Maybe. But director Zack Snyder joked in a recent interview with YouTuber Grace Randolph that no one would accuse him of making short films. He poked at the irony that he came from the world of commercials.

But how long would it be? In the past, Snyder even shared a film can that showed the runtime at 214 minutes. Is that the final cut length?

“I have famously advertised the runtime at 214 minutes,” Snyder said. “Now in its current state, it’s going to end up being longer than that yet. Exciting to bring all this new material to the fans that get to see all these crazy and awesome new sequences. I think that’s going to be exciting for everyone. I’m still working on it so I don’t want to say.”

To be frank, I’m a bit surprised by this. I had assumed that the film canister Snyder shared months back was essentially picture lock. It’s the “Snyder Cut” as he advertised to fans for months, right? All that would need to happen is for them to finish VFX.

Apparently, this isn’t the case. Given a bit of time and perspective, it sounds like Snyder is taking this opportunity to further refine the Snyder Cut. Whether or not this means we’ll get a shorter or longer version of the film remains to be seen. He seems to believe a longer cut is inevitable, but sadly isn’t open to giving an exact number at this time.
