Ever since The Exorcist, many filmmakers try to replicate the horrific tales of the Catholic Church performing exorcisms on possessed victims. For Justin P. Lange, he took a different route of a veteran exorcist training a younger protégé in the craft. Through that relationship, the pair starts questioning why they took the job in the first place.
The horror film The Seventh Day stars Guy Pearce (Memento, L.A. Confidential), Stephen Lang (Avatar film franchise, Don’t Breathe), Keith David (The Princess and the Frog, They Live), Robin Bartlett (City of Angels, Inside Llewyn Davis), and Vadhir Derbez (How to Be a Latin Lover, 3 idiotas). Lange wrote and directed the movie.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Renowned exorcist Father Peter (Guy Pearce) teams up with a rookie apprentice (Vadhir Derbez) for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on Earth, the lines between good and evil blur and their own demons emerge.
