Well it looks like we are still waiting for Keanu Reeves to appear in the superhero genre. According to an insider, Keanu Reeves passed on playing Kraven. The news comes from Skyler Shuler of DisInsider, and they say The Illuminerdi was correct with their story, Reeves was offered the role of Kraven. However, they also say some months ago he passed on the opportunity. Check it out.

Now, what is interesting is that this is more confirmation that The Illuminerdi are getting legit information. Recently the outlet has had a share of verified scoops and this appears to verify another. However, in this instance it seems their information was a little out of date. That happens, we’ve been there before ourselves in the past. Information is legit, but since it has been passed on, more has changed behind the scenes. This is one of the prime reasons that we have vowed to never predict a trailer release again from our own sources. I’ll just leave it at that for those that might know where I am coming from.
Ultimately that leaves us with two questions.

Firstly, who are Sony after now to play Kraven the Hunter? On that front I have no news for you, only some fan casting. The fan favorite to play Kraven right now is Karl Urban. However, that doesn’t real mean anything, it’s just a name that most fans would like to see, who knows where Sony are aiming now? I’m not keen on the idea of a Kraven the Hunter movie anyway, so I won’t weigh in with my own choices here.
Secondly, and maybe this is just me, is the reason Reeves passed because it was Sony and not Marvel Studios? Reeves has been wanted by Kevin Feige for years, and Feige has told us this before. So far Feige hasn’t been able to find the right role for Reeves, but you feel it will happen someday. If Reeves agreed to play Kraven for Sony, would that eliminate his chances to play a different character in the MCU? Two years ago I would have said no, but with Morbius having such obvious connections to the MCU, I just don’t know anymore? Personally I always liked the idea of Reeves as Silver Surfer, though that would be a mo-cap role and maybe not what Reeves wants?
