In an interview this week for The Marvels premiere, Marvel boss Kevin Feige was coy on X-Men questions, confirmed no Star Wars movie and denied discussing returning fallen Avengers at a recent retreat. In all honesty Feige gives very little away in this interview, as you’d expect. However, questions were posed by ET, so let’s get into what Feige did have to say.

In the interview above the first thing Feige is asked in a roundabout way is about all the recent noise (mainly the Variety piece) around the MCU. Feige does not get drawn into rumors, and instead states that his focus is right now on the Loki Season 2 finale and The Marvels release in theatres. The future he says is something he cannot talk about.
After dodging some questions around some cameos that show up in The Marvels, talk then switches towards the X-Men. Unfortunately for fans, Feige didn’t give anything away and instead only promoted the X-Men 97′ animated series coming soon. As for live-action, Feige simply said, we’ll “Find out soon…Maybe?”
Feige was also asked specifically about Harry Styles who made one small cameo as Starfox in the Eternals post-credit scene.
“He’s excited, we’re excited, we will see. We’ve introduced a lot of new characters in a lot of new movies and a lot of tags. Where do the tag folks appear?”
The interviewer then threw in the Taylor Swift as Dazzler rumors and Feige just said. “A lot of musicians.”

Feige was then asked about the rumors (we’ve shared these already) regarding the return of fallen Avengers. Namely, RDJ as Tony Stark, ScarJo as Widow and Evans as Steve Rogers. The answer he was set to stick with when asked if he could discuss this was simply “no.”
However, the interviewer went to the specific claim that this was discussed recently at a Marvel retreat. Feige then says,
“Ah, we did not discuss that at the retreat, is the truth.”
“We’re doing a project with Scarlett, I love Robert, he’s part of the family, but in terms of returning, we’ll have to see.”
If you are unaware the project Feige mentioned with Scarlett is her producing and MCU movie for Marvel, not reprising her role as Black Widow, yet.
Finally Fiege was asked very simply if he was still making his Star Wars movie?
“No!”
All in all what did any of this really tell us? That, Feige doesn’t want to reveal his X-Men plans just yet. Also that they know they need to pick up all these tag characters, but don’t appear to have immediate plans to do so. Feige then denies bringing back the fallen Avengers was discussed at their retreat and won’t say anything else. Oh and he confirms what we already knew, that his Star Wars movie is no longer moving ahead.
So, as per the title, Feige was coy on X-Men, no Star Wars movie and a denial of returning fallen Avengers being discussed. Does that move the needle in any way? Does it throw more doubt or less doubt on some rumors? As always, share your own thoughts below.
