Bit of a mix between news and Barside Buzz folks as Kevin Feige claims Marvel will never resurrect Iron Man, aka Tony Stark. However, what about Iron Man variants, are those off the table? We ask that questions because the Barside Buzz still has RDJ in talks to turn up in Secret Wars. In fact there is some Buzz following Feige’s comments that variants could still be on the table.
Let’s look at what Feige had to say recently courtesy of Vanity Fair. They have a big piece all about the working career of Robert Downey Jr. and in one segment Feige is asked about resurrecting Tony Stark, something which can be done in a universe as crazy as the MCU.
“We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again,” Feige says. “We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.”
That a sentiment we have heard before and ultimately it is the right call. That version of Tony Stark needs to stay dead, that was his end. However, there are those rumors that RDJ has been sounded out about a Secret Wars turn, even if as some sort of big cameo. So, does this count if we get an alt version of Tony appear through the Multiverse? That would not negate Tony’s sacrifice play for the fans who understand it. However, would it bother the more casual fans?

One insider certainly seems to throw doubt upon RDJ never returning in some capacity. Check out what Daniel RPK posted in response to this story.
They won't resurrect that version if Tony but that doesn't mean he can't come back in other ways https://t.co/3ZqSeVWxt8

I’ll cover a few other rumors that have sprung up this weekend in a roundup tomorrow. However I felt it was relevant enough to list this alongside Feige’s comments.
What do you think of his comments as Kevin Feige says Marvel will never resurrect Iron Man. Does that also include Iron Man variants, or like RPK says, is this clever wording from Feige? Thoughts below as always.
