Kevin Smith is starting off the new year as many of us would love — on a set for one of his upcoming movies, Killroy Was Here. The filmmaker took to Twitter to show off a first behind-the-scenes look at the project-in-the-making.
Check it out below:
Smith has more than a couple projects in the work. In addition to his normal podcasting work, he’s set to create Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (which, last we heard, should have undergone production in the fall of last year, but there’s been no word for some time).

This project, Killroy Was Here, is set to build off the “meme” in World War II. The phrase would be found scattered carved into walls in Germany, among other places, along with the image of a man with his big nose hanging over a wall. With this new anthology film (in which they apparently annoyingly spell Killroy with two Ls instead of one, as it appears in the drawings), they look to build a horror-centric mythology around it.
Given Smith’s track record, we expect this movie to be unapologetically Kevin Smith in every way. So we wouldn’t be surprised to find off-brand dark comedy, embarrassingly silly characters, and deep cut references to his other work, including his podcasts.
