There was recently a HBO/Max slate presentation, which had various media in attendance. We have learned from this that Penguin is delayed until Fall 2024, Creature Commandos will release in 2025, plus House of the Dragon S2 will release in Summer 24′.
Let’s start with Penguin and House of the Dragon S2.

There was also a trailer shown for House of the Dragon S2, though no one is talking.

This has also caught the attention of fans awaiting news of a date for The Rings of Power Season 2. It is highly unlikely Amazon wants to compete with House of the Dragon. Therefore the fans are now convinced it will be Fall/Winter, 2024 before Rings of Power Season 2 premieres. That remains to be seen until an official date is set.
Penguin‘s delay is from Spring to Fall only, and hardly a surprise given the actors and writers strikes, the former of which is still ongoing.
Creature Commandos
Those in attendance were also shown a lot of concept art for Creature Commandos, the animated series which begins the new DCU. We cannot share the concept art, (you can see a little in the video below) but you will find it on social media or Reddit if you fancy a look? It was confirmed at the event by the animation studio that Creature Commandos will premiere in 2025. We also learned that the series will consists of seven 22-minute episodes and be directed by James Gunn. Last we heard Gunn wasn’t 100% on whether he was directing the animated series he wrote.
Finally, we have an unconfirmed rumor that Anya Chalotra (The Witcher) has joined the voice cast of Creature Commandos as Circe. Check it out.

As always, let’s wait until this one gets confirmed, but apparently this is listed in Chalotra’s official resume page. I’m, not familiar with the Circe character but Chalotra is a good actress.

Lots of interesting shows coming to HBO/Max over the next couple of years. In my home country of the U.K. we still don’t have Max and likely never will as the same company now owns the Sky paid TV service in the U.K. So far, these series simply end up on one of the paid TV sub channels we have on Sky. As long as we get them same time as the US I don’t care. However I had to wait ages for Peacemaker when it released and I was not a patient man.
So, Penguin is delayed until Fall 2024, Creature Commandos will release in 2025, plus House of the Dragon S2 will release in Summer 24′.
