KINGSMAN 2: Taron Egerton Says They’re Done Filming And That It Will “Blow Everyone Away”

Kingsman: The Secret Service was an all-around big surprise. It was a surprise in that it made me buy Colin Firth as a badass, it was a surprise in how great the relatively unknown Taron Egerton was, it was a surprise in how amazing of a villain Samuel L. Jackson was, and on the whole, it was a surprise just how darn good the film was. Yes, it had the genius Matthew Vaughn behind it, but the trailers did nothing to convince me it would be anything special.

Oh, how wrong I was.

Now, the film’s sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, is up there as one of my most anticipated films of next year. With Vaughn returning to the project as director, the addition of the likes of Halle Berry Julianne Moore, and Channing Tatum, as well as the return of Colin Firth to the film, it’s bound to have a lot to offer audiences.

While promoting his upcoming film Sing at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, Egerton provided an update on the film to ETOnline.

“It’s great. We just finished. It’s gonna blow everyone away.”

In addition that update, Egerton confirmed that Tatum wasn’t on set for very long, but that they had a good time when he was there.

“Channing and I did [have a chance to hang out] a little bit. He was only around for a couple of weeks, but he’s such a great guy. He’s such a great guy, and he’s brilliant in the movie. It’s gonna be great.”

As of this writing, Tatum’s role is unclear. When he was spotted on set, he was sporting a full-on suit, not unlike the kind you’d see a traditional Kingsman agent wear. Perhaps he’ll be a fellow agent from another organization that ultimately bites the dust. We’ll have to wait and see.

What’re you looking forward to most from the film? Let us know in the comments down below!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017.
