Knives Out 2: Another day, another new cast member. After sharing that Dave Bautista and Edward Norton joined the cast of the sequel to Rian Johnson’s 2019 film, a fourth actor has joined the film. Fourth, if you are counting the franchise lead, Daniel Craig.
Not quite the celebrity that Norton, Bautista, or Craig are, THR reports Janelle Monae is the latest to join the list of suspects in Knives Out 2.
With one actor announced every day this week, thus far, I look forward to having tomorrow off from writing. I’ve already written my second trilogy of stories in two weeks.

Monae is best known for her work as a musical recording artist, though she has had quite a few film roles as of late. She’s had roles in Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Welcome to Marwen, Harriot, and Antebellum.
If Knives Out 2 follows the model of it’s predecessor, Monae maybe more of a help to Craig’s Detective Benoit Blanc, as lesser known actress Ana de Armas was in the first film. That film featured the biggest celebrities as the main suspects.
Shooting this summer in Greece, Knives Out 2 was part of a deal with Netflix for the streaming service to stream the films that reached $469 million. This also included Knives Out 3. The sequel will have a $40 million budget like its predecessor which went on to make $311.4 million at the box office.
No plot details are known at this point. I am more than ready to sink my teeth into another Rian Johnson mystery.
