Sony’s Kraven the Hunter gets MCU cinematographer according to the latest Barside Buzz. The report comes from The Ronin who say British cinematographer Ben Davis has joined the production team for Sony’s Kraven The Hunter. Davis already worked with Kraven star Aaron Taylor-Johnson on Avengers: Age of Ultron. Davis has also worked on Guardians of The Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Eternals within the MCU.
Sony’s Kraven the Hunter will be directed by J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier). Karevn’s script was penned by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer, The Expendables 2) with Art Marcum and Matt Holloway tackling rewrites.
Of course fans are constantly wondering whether Kraven the Hunter could be set in, or still appear in, the larger MCU. Given Venom transported into the MCU in the post credit scene of Let There Be Carnage, who knows?
For the moment though, all we can say is that it seems Kraven will be set in the SSMU, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. That means that more than likely Kraven the Hunter will feature no Spider-Man other than perhaps a tease or a vague mention. It kinda feels like Sony is teasing these match up’s just to force Marvel into agreeing to let the SSMU join the MCU. Will any of these Sony characters actually show up in the next Spider-Man MCU trilogy we know is coming?

That remains to be seen. Of course one issue with Kraven in the MCU is that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is already an MCU character. Ok, Quicksilver is dead in the MCU, and I know the same actors have appeared as different characters before. I’m not sure it’s happen quite on the scale of Quicksilver to Kraven though. Meh, a Kraven movie made by Sony sounds way out of my interest zone. I guess this one will be for the crowd who loved Venom and Let There Be Carnage?
