According to pretty much all the trades Kyle Chandler is in talks to play Hal Jordan in the DCU’s Lanterns series. As I’m sure you know, the role was originally offered to Josh Brolin, but he turned it down. That was our first indication that the DCU Hal Jordan would be older. It looks like that remains the case and the trades seem to think Chandler has accepted the offer and just in final negotiations.

As per Deadline;
‘No one is commenting, but I hear Chandler is poised to play Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern character that was played by Ryan Reynolds in the 2011 movie.’
Lanterns, which will end up on HBO is definitely attracting some serious attention from me. There’s a really talented cast of creatives developing this one as you can see from Deadline‘s brief synopsis below.

We also have an older Guy Gardner who will already be established as a Lantern within Superman premiering in July, 2025. Nathan Fillion, Kyle Chandler, and a younger John Stewart. I look forward to seeing them all interact. I’m not saying Fillion is in Lanterns by the way, I wouldn’t know? I just assume they’ll all interact at some point down the line.
