Last Year L.A. Comic Con returned to an in-person show. They welcomed in almost 95,000 fans over the three days of the event. This included fans, creators, artists, cosplayers, celebrities, and vendors. There were many opportunities to interact with some of your favorite names in entertainment through autographs, photos, and a variety of panels.
This year they are aiming to make this the largest L.A. Comic Con in history as they expect to welcome over 140,000 fans as well as more than 800 artists, vendors, and more. The event will take up more than 1.2 million square feet of the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event will take place from Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 4.
Many names have been announced for the show to name a few there is Amy Jo Johnson, Charlie Hannam, Elijah Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Karen Fukuhara, Simu Liu, LaVar Burton, Steve Burns, Tia Ballard, Wil Wheaton, and others that you can check out on their website.
There will be a larger presence in the West Hall featuring Gaming & Anime thanks to the production by Subnation that will include expansive and exciting gaming and anime experience. The West Hall will include a gaming stage, a stream studio, and a gaming free play area.
The 7th Annual National Cosplay Championship will also be taking place. Here cosplayers will have the opportunity to compete for $30,000 in cash and other prizes. There will be three categories Master, Journeyman, and Novice. All genres will be welcome.
Main Stage Attraction
One of the things that make L.A. Comic Con unique is its Main Stage attraction. They have announced some of their highlights that will be inhabiting the stage area. Below are some that will have many people excited.
Jimmy Neutron 20th Anniversary & Live Script Reading
It’s rare you find 80s and 90s children who have never seen Jimmy Neutron. Jimmy’s determined nature made him an interesting character to teens and children alike. The cast of Jimmy Neutron, including Candi Milo, Carolyn Lawrence, Debi Derryberry, Jeff Garcia, Mark DeCarlo, and Megan Cavanagh will be on the main stage doing a live script-reading to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary!
Lord of The Rings
Sean Astin and Elijah Wood take the Main Stage on Saturday, December 3rd to discuss what happened behind the scenes to make Peter Jackson’s blockbuster Lord of the Rings film trilogy come to life.
The Boys
Your favorite group of vigilantes from The Boys, Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), and Tomer Capone (Frenchie) will be appearing Saturday and Sunday of Los Angeles Comic Con for autographs, photo ops and a Main Stage panel!
The Mandalorian
The Mandalorian took Disney+ by storm and has become tremendously popular during its first two seasons. This Star Wars story, set in the years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, tells the tale of a member of the race of bounty hunters that spawned Boba Fett. Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) and Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) will regale conventiongoers with tales from one of the most innovative production sets ever built.
The Sandlot
Cast members from the classic 1993 baseball film, The Sandlot, will take the main stage on Sunday, December 4th! The group plans to get nostalgic as we take a look at the last 30 years of the classic film.
The Umbrella Academy
The Umbrella Academy is coming to Los Angeles Comic Con on Saturday, December 3rd! Show creator Steve Blackman will be joined by co-executive producers Jason Neese & Jamie Neese as well as some special guests on our Main Stage for an epic conversation about the award-winning Netflix Show.
