Laurence Fishburne Would Like To Play A Cosmic Character In The MCU

Actor Laurence Fishburne appears as Dr. Bill Foster in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp. While attending the film’s premiere the actor spoke on the red carpet and expressed his desire to be a very popular, and as far as appearing in films, an underutilized character from the Marvel comics. The planet consuming cosmic entity known as Galactus.

“Well, you know this is not my first time in the MCU: I was actually the voice of the Silver Surfer. And if they ever go back to that again – if it was a villain – I would love to do Galactus.”

With it looking very likely that Disney will indeed acquire estranged Marvel properties in their deal with Fox, Galactus could and at some point probably will become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans won’t really know the difference the acquisition will have on the MCU until the backend processes of the Disney/Fox deal are finalized.

Fishburne mentions that he once voiced of Silver Surfer, coincidentally, he voiced the character in the same film which gave us the only big-screen representation of Galactus, which many fans thought was an insult to the character.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters July 6.
