According to the latest Barside Buzz we have some leaked Daredevil: Born Again plot details to share, plus it’s rumored Drew Goddard is still wanted by Marvel to direct Spider-Man 4. This latest set of news comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. Let’s start with Daredevil: Born Again. Honestly, there’s little here we have not heard before. However, what is key here is that this is new information after some rewrites took place. We recently learned from D’Onofrio in an interview that filming resumes in a ‘few weeks’ for Born Again. That means the new scrips are likely completed.
Essentially what this does is confirm that several plot details we knew about are still in place.
RPK says that just like was previously reported by MTTSH, Muse is the main villain of Born Again. According to the leak Muse will use victims as works of art and Matt will investigate. Other plots that still remains are the cops who wear Punisher logo’s and then there’s Fisk.
Fisk is currently the Mayor of NYC and he is trying to get vigilante’s outlawed, but RPK also says he is trying to actually be good. That would be an unexpected change if once in position Fisk starts out trying to be a good mayor, then slowly goes back to his old corrupt ways and violent methods. He also says when we start the show Matt is no longer Daredevil and just a lawyer. However, one thing we heard was being changed was how quick he slips back into the suit and the mission in the show from what was first filmed.

In another story from RPK I felt worth sharing he has once again linked Drew Goddard with the job of directing Spider-Man 4. At this point no director has been announced. It also appears Goddard is just one Marvel and Sony are looking to. Goddard of course was showrunning Daredevil Season 1 on Netflix. However, Goddard left to go make a Sinister Six movie for Sony that never happened. Then you add the rumors. Spider-Man 4 will be based on the aftermath of Born Again, with Spidey, Fisk, Daredevil and outlawed vigilantes. There’s also more hints these rumors are true in the related section above.
It does seem like Goddard may be a good fit, but who knows? I liked Jon Watts Spidey movies and also would be happy to see him return. However, perhaps it is time for a new voice for this new era for Peter.
