A leaked Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer hit the web yesterday. However, essentially confirming the leak was legit, Sony and Disney pulled any and all versions remaining online. Then, you can never delete something off the internet completely can you? Thus, fans have started sharing captures all over the place. I myself have seen this unfinished trailer, and whilst I’ll talk about it below, not without a prior spoiler warning.
The visual effects were not completed on this leaked trailer and the artist who had this originally was plastered all over the watermark. This means, either that artist, who I will not name, is in a lot of trouble today, or there was some hacking or stealing going on? Which of these is the case I genuinely could not tell you? However, this leak is a bit crazy given that rumors abound that the trailer will get a release today anyway. The official Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is rumored to debut today at CinemaCon. Initially there was talk that it would not release online afterwards. However, given various factors, like it leaking early, insiders are now claiming we will all get to see the trailer as it was supposed to be seen later sometime today.
Tom Holland took to Instagram, simply to say.
“You ain’t ready!”
Presumably in response to the leaked trailer that went up yesterday. That’s no longer there either, but I have an image I took on my phone below.
Let’s hope that we will be ready if the official trailer hits later today? In the meantime, for those curious, I’ll talk about some details below. However you may be better to just wait till later today and see it for yourself? That’s entirely your own call if you scroll past the image below.
**Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer SPOILERS Below**
I will not detail out everything within the trailer here, especially as it’s reportedly so close. However I will tell you what rumors are confirmed from the trailer. So, far, in the leaked trailer at least, there is no confirmation of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield. However we do indeed get to see Molina as Dock Ock, Foxx as Electro, and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin. The trailer also explains how they got there, sort of. In fact almost everything from the trailer I saw is solely the first act of the movie as far as we can tell. Equally though, I think it gives away far too much. You’re going to know what the first 20 minutes of this movie is like by the time you watch the trailer and that’s not the kind of trailers I enjoy.
Though I don’t plan to fully rate the trailer until such time as I see it properly. The version I saw was someone’s phone recording of someone else’s phone playing it. Not ideal. However, what this also gives us is enough information now to work out which supposed leaks were correct or not. Ergo, if you find a leak that had the opening correct, likely what they describe for the rest of the movie is legit as well. That means Tobey and Andrew are back. The buzz around the barside today is that the former Spider-Men will be revealed later in the second full trailer for the movie.
