Tonight is the first day that the Arrowverse returns to The CW, and this season of television kicks off in a big way. Of course, one-fourth of that program lineup is none other than Legends of Tomorrow, which follows a band of misfits who travel through time, in hopes of fixing some of the bigger wrongs.

Last season of Legends of Tomorrow saw our heroes crash-landing in a present day full of anachronisms, and based on this new sizzle reel, it sounds like the bulk of the season will be dealing with that very problem. The only issue is that the Rip Hunter and the Time Bureau are no longer in need of their services because according to Rip, using the Legends to fix anything is like doing brain surgery with a chainsaw.

Of course, the team takes this as a personal challenge, and proceed to try and fix everything anyway. Guess we should’ve seen that coming.

Below is the official synopsis for Legends of Tomorrow:

“The Legends continue their new mission to protect the timeline from temporal aberrations – unusual changes to history that spawn potentially catastrophic consequences. When Nate, the grandson of J.S.A. member Commander Steel, unexpectedly finds himself with powers, he must overcome his own insecurities and find the hero within himself. Ultimately, the Legends will clash with foes both past and present, to save the world from a mysterious new threat.”
