Let’s Meet The Madrigals In The Magical New Trailer For Disney’s Encanto

Encanto

Disney Animation Studios’ films have allowed us to travel all around the world. Our next stop is an exciting visit to the wonderful country of Colombia in Encanto. In Encanto, we are going to meet the Madrigal family. An extraordinary family that lives in an enchanted, wondrous place called Encanto. We will be treated to the wonderful and colorful culture that Colombia has to offer. To give you a taste of what that is, Disney today has released a new poster and trailer for the film. You can check them out below!

In Encanto we are going to explore the magical bond between the Madrigal family. As well as the mystery behind why Mirabel does not have any special magical gift like the rest of the family. It features music written by the talented and beloved Lin Manuel Miranda. You may recall his work on Moana, In the Heights, and of course Hamilton. One other Latin icon joining the film is John Leguizamo. He had kind words about Miranda’s work. “I was so pumped to be asked to the party,” said Leguizamo. “Lin-Manuel [Miranda] wrote me a rap, and I flipped out! Plus, this is such a beautiful story set in Colombia. It’s a first in so many ways. The magic is enchanting, the comedy is so sharp, and the world created is irresistible.”

Leguizamo will be voicing the character, Uncle Bruno in Encanto. He has the ability to see the future. Unfortunately his honest and often doomsaying predictions aren’t always received well by the rest of his family. So he became the uncle that no one speaks of and disappears. “Bruno is so compelling because he is that guy that never quite fits in,” said Leguizamo. “He’s an outsider, but he also understands the world better because he’s always wanted to belong to it.”

Along with Legizamo the Encanto cast includes Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel; María Cecilia Botero as Mirabel’s grandmother Alma aka Abuela; Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama as Mirabel’s parents, Julieta and Agustín;  and Diane Guererro and Jessica Darrow as Mirabel’s sisters, Isabela and Luisa. Also lending their voices are Carolina Gaitán and Mauro Castillo as Mirabel’s aunt and uncle, Pepa and Félix; and Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz and Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Mirabel’s cousins Dolores, Camilo and Antonio, respectively.
