Liv Tyler Returns As Betty Ross In Captain America: New World Order

I wondered if and when this would happen, and here we are. Liv Tyler returns as Betty Ross in Captain America: New World Order according to THR. The actress was the most recent version of Betty Ross in The Incredible Hulk. However after Banner actor Edward Norton was replaced with Mark Ruffalo, there has been no mention of Betty, nor any sign of a return for Tyler.

It seems like that’s all change for Captain America: New World Order, which continues to have heavy Hulk vibes to it. We know Harrison Ford takes over the late William Hurt’s role as Betty’s father, and now President, Ross. We also know that classic Hulk villain The Leader, also introduced in The Incredible Hulk, will also return, and now Betty. One does wonder whether Ruffalo himself may show up? However, that could be a set up for a possible Hulk solo film down the line. As a huge fan of Hulk, I feel like I’ve been waiting far too long for a good Hulk solo movie. Who knows, maybe that will actually be Cap 4? However all joking aside there have been rumblings on a Hulk movie that I hope pan out.

The trade also references some more characters returning in Cap 4. Check it out.

Also on the roll call are Carl Lumbly, back as original super-soldier Isaiah Bradley after playing him in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; Danny Ramirez, returning as Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s Joaquin Torres; and MCU newcomer Shira Haas. Anthony Mackie is toplining the feature as Sam Wilson, inhabiting the mantle of Captain America for the first time on the big-screen.

For now, I’m looking forward to New World Order, especially with all the Hulk influences. However, whether I’m still excited come release date will depend on how good the movie looks. The last Marvel movie I saw at theaters was Spider-Man: No Way Home. I’ve not minded one bit waiting for the streaming release of the likes of Multiverse of Madness. I am currently waiting to catch Quantumania on there also. I guess it’s less a drop in quality in the MCU for me, more of having a teenage son now, who doesn’t want to go see Marvel movies with his old man (or at least it’s trickier to schedule). However, let’s not pretend the quality has not dropped in the MCU, because it has.

My main worry with Cap: New World Order is that I wasn’t a fan if the writing in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Therefore with head writer Malcolm Spellman also scripting Cap 4, it leaves me concerned. The villains in FATWS were awful and poorly devised for me.

Let us know what you think as Liv Tyler returns as Betty Ross in Captain America: New World Order? Thoughts below as always.
