Some recently revealed Loki toy packaging gives an intriguing plot detail about the upcoming show. We know from the trailer that Loki is working with the TVA, the Time Variance Authority and it looks like he begins being in trouble. For reasons we don’t yet fully know Loki ends up becoming some sort of TVA agent working with Owen Wilson’s Mobius. However this latest Marvel Legends figure’s toy packaging reveals the following.
“Mere moments after his escape during the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Loki is apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) and arrested for his crimes against the ‘sacred timeline.'”

This begs the question of what, if anything, is the ‘sacred timeline’? One assumes based on what we’ve seen in both Endgame and Loki, that there are multiple branching timelines. What would Loki have done to affect this ‘sacred timeline’ that was in anyway his fault? Does this mean that despite there being multiple timelines going on, the TVA’s main job is to protect one specific timeline above all others? Perhaps this timeline is the one in which they are created in the first place?
I also have a sneaking suspicion that the rumored Kang involvement may have something to do with this ‘sacred timeline’. However, That really is just guess work at this point. What if the events of Endgame in some way muck things up for Kang in his future? Would that really be what Loki is working to protect? Or, perhaps that one in 14 million chance of Endgame‘s conclusion is the only one that can allow the TVA, or Kang to come into existence?
