This week was the release of the new television drama from Spectrum Originals, Long Slow Exhale. It follows the story of J.C. Abernathy, played by Rose Rollins, a woman’s college basketball coach that is coming off a huge National title win. But things all start to quickly fall apart when she finds herself in the middle of a sexual abuse scandal that could threaten her career. As she uncovers more and more about what happened, she will have to trek carefully as her moves will affect her players as well as her family.
Long Slow Exhale puts us in a position where we witness a sexual abuse scandal from the administrative perspective. What happens when a head coach of a successful basketball team finds out that her support system may be covering up a sexual assault case that affected one of her players. In her pursuit of the truth, she will struggle with who she can trust. But she may not be free of guilt, as a past event can threaten her way of life. Every decision she makes could cost her everything.
