The latest Star Wars Barside Buzz is that we’re going to Naboo in Andor Season 2. At least, it seems a damn good bet that Padme’s home planet will feature in at least one episode. As you likely know Andor Season 2 has been filming for some time and the shoot has now set up at Hever Castle in England. Well, fun fact, Star Wars has shot at Haver Castle before, as a stand in for parts of Naboo.
Some images were posted on subreddit r/StarWars and the person who posted has said their dad (presumably the photographer) talked to one of the security guards who said it was for Naboo. Normally, I’d just, ‘yeah, whatever, my dad knows the president of Nintendo’. However, the fact this makes total sense cannot be ignored. Are we 100% going to Naboo in Andor Season 2? Nope, but I think I’d be prepared to wager quite a few bucks on the assumption we are.
Much of the Naboo location shots from The Phantom Menace are actually from Italy. However, one of the scenes involving Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon was 100% shot at Havers.

As for what a return to Naboo could mean for the story? Well, anything at this point. We could see a Naboo committed to the Empire, or we could see Mon Mothma recruiting more to her cause. It’s even possible the death of Senator and former Queen Amidala could be mentioned given this is only around 10-15 years later. We don’t know for sure, because Andor Season 2 covers a much larger time period than Season 1. Again we will be getting three episode story arcs. However, the showrunner Tony Gilroy has said to expect sizeable jumps between those arcs. Ultimately Andor Season 2 needs to end just before Rogue One begins, and since A New Hope is 19 years after Revenge of the Sith, you can see where my estimate comes from.
