You all have been so patient over the past couple of years. It’s been a long and arduous road, but the time is finally here for you to have a first look at Dark/Web — the part-serialized, part-anthological series set to be released very soon. If you’re relatively new here, some time ago, we had a screenwriting contest, and the lucky winner would have a chance for their original tech-themed horror short to be implemented into an episode of the series. Now, we’re finally ready to give you a taste of it.

First up for you to meet is the character Sam Daniels, played by Shameless‘s Lana McKissack. We have an exclusive interview with her above, as well as an extended clip from the actual show. Be sure to check that out above, along with the exclusive poster down below!

But who is Sam? Sam has it all: perfect hair, a mansion in the hills, and 3.8 million loyal followers across all her social media platforms. But fame has its costs; Sam’s rapid ascent to online superstardom upended her life and the lives of those around her, including her recently ex-boyfriend and high-school sweetheart, Ethan Neary (Castle‘s Brian Elerding). Still, she takes it in stride. Though she once longed for a “more serious” career, Sam’s now more than happy to cash in off makeup tips and the dos and don’ts of Millennial fashion. When threatening stories show up in her inbox claiming to be from an old high school acquaintance, Sam assumes it’s the same cyber-trolls who made a fortune hacking nude photos off her phone and selling them to the masses

This email, however, has been sent from a much darker corner of the web… From someone who needs Sam’s help… before it’s too late.

Of course, like the true dark web itself, the rabbit hole here goes so much deeper, and we can’t wait to show you where it goes.
