Lucasfilm Wants Writer Beau Willimon For More Star Wars Projects | Barside Buzz

Some Barside Buzz says that Lucasfilm wants screenwriter Beau Willimon to write for more Star Wars projects.

Some Barside Buzz says that Lucasfilm wants screenwriter Beau Willimon to write for more Star Wars projects. Willimon is already writing, or co-writing one Star Wars project right now. James Mangold is working with Willimon on his ‘Dawn of the Jedi’ era movie. The information comes from Daniel RPK on Patreon

Willimon is the writer and showrunner behind House of Cards but was also a writer on Andor Season 1. Willimon wrote the Narkina 5 arc, which most agree were the best episodes of Andor. Willimon is also the writer for three episodes of Andor Season 2. Therefore, he is no stranger to Star Wars, and has already written some top quality content.

Exactly what they wish him to write we know not? However, I feel like Willimon would be a great showrunner for another more mature themed TV series like Andor. Perhaps not as high budget as Andor, but who knows? Though I must say, I’m thinking TV series when in fact it could be for movies they want Willimon’s skills? We have no idea for now.

It also remains to be seen whether Willimon wants this extra work on Star Wars projects or not? I’m a fan, so I sincerely hope he does step up his involvement.

Willimon’s involvement is the biggest positive I have with Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie. I find him a far superior writer to Mangold. However, hopefully together they can craft something that actually is good enough to get made, for once.

What do you think of the Barside Buzz that Lucasfilm wants screenwriter Beau Willimon to write for more Star Wars projects? Like me, would you actually be excited if this rumor proves correct? Thoughts below in the usual spot.
