Rory McCann replaces Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka Season 2, that was the Barside Buzz, but is now official. As you are aware Ray Stevenson who played the role capably in Season 1, tragically passed away before the show finished airing. Given how important it seemed the character would be to Season 2, the role had to be recast.
Now Jeff Sneider is reporting on his The Insneider newsletter that Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will replace his former friend in the role for Season 2. McCann is famous probably worldwide for playing Sandor (The Hound) Clegane in all 8 Seasons of Game of Thrones. I haven’t seen my fellow Scot in much else, but he was phenomenal as Clegane in that show. Sadly, we have to accept he won’t be calling everyone see you next Tuesdays.
It’s not official of course, however this does match with a few little rumblings I have heard. I’m pretty sure, this one is legit folks. The folks at Bespin Bulletin also backed up Sneider, so that’s several sources.
EDIT:
[Scratch all the rumors, THR has now reported it as confirmed. Rory is Baylan Skoll. Just happened as I was in the middle of writing this.]

Ahsoka Season 2 according to Bespin Bulletin will film in Longcross Studios in the U.K.
‘In addition to McCann’s casting, I have heard that Ahsoka season two will be filming at Longcross Studios in the United Kingdom and I’ve heard two different names in relation to the series – Firebird and Slow Horses. Star Wars productions usually use codenames for the series.’
So, that’s that piece of casting done. I can only hope now that Ahsoka Season 2 is a big improvement over Season 1. I found it too cartoony, too dull, and aimed at kids too much. However, Stevenson as Baylan was one of the real plusses of Season 1. Let’s hope McCann can do a good job filling in the role.
What do you think as Rory McCann replaces Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka Season 2? Thoughts below.
