Lucky Trailer Features A Woman Fending Off The Same Murderer Over and Over Again

Lucky
Lucky stars Brea Grant as a woman hunted nightly by a murderous masked man.

Lucky seems to be a story of one unlucky woman.

In the horror film, an author is hunted nightly by the same murderous mysterious man. Everyone in her life appears to know about it and act nonchalantly about her situation. Basically, it is a Groundhog Day for a victim.

The film stars Brea Grant (Heroes, After Midnight) in the lead role.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Life takes a sudden turn for May, a popular self-help book author when she finds herself the target of a mysterious man with murderous intentions. Every night, without fail he comes after her, and every day the people around her barely seem to notice. With no one to turn to, May is pushed to her limits and must take matters into her own hands to survive to regain control of her life.

The rest of the cast includes Dhruv Uday Singh (Good Trouble) and Kausar Mohammed (East of La Brea, What Men Want). It is the sophomore feature film for Iranian-American filmmaker Natasha Kermani (Imitation Girl) from the script written by Grant.

Lucky was popular amongst the film festival circuit in the past year. It was featured at the Fantasia International Film Festival, FrightFest, NIGHTSTREAM, Sitges Film Festival, and SXSW 2020.

The trailer does look hilarious and bloody. It has similarities to another film called Happy Death Day, which was quite a box office hit. And that was one of my favorite horror films. Most definitely, this film will be on my watch list to stream.

Lucky streams on the Shudder platform beginning on March 4.
