Netflix and Marvel seem to be hitting their stride in terms of getting these series out pretty close to one another. Later this week, Jessica Jones Season 2 is hitting the streaming service, but in advance of that, Netflix has released the first tease for the second season of Luke Cage.

The tease is only 27 seconds long, but it shows a few cool things — including Luke on fire after a truck explodes. He also speaks into the camera for the duration of the tease, challenging the viewers to step up and test him (no, thanks).

The biggest piece of info to drop here, however, is the actual release date of the next season. For this particular show, Netflix and Marvel have selected the summer date of June 22, 2018 — only a few months away!

Below is the official synopsis for the second season of Luke Cage:

“After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.”

Luke Cage Season 2 hits Netflix on June 22, 2018.
