Luke David Blumm has a special love for horror movies. Although pretty young himself, he took the role in Son to push himself into this genre.
In Son, Blumm plays David, in which appears to suffer from a strange sickness after a mysterious incident. The mother (played by Andi Matichak) believes darker forces are at work and will go at great lengths to protect her child.
The movie also stars Emile Hirsch and Cranston Johnson. Ivan Kavanagh directed and wrote the movie.
Here’s the official synopsis:
After a mysterious group of individuals breaks into Laura’s home and attempts to abduct her eight-year-old son, David, the two of them flee town in search of safety. But soon after the failed kidnapping, David becomes extremely ill, suffering from increasingly sporadic psychosis and convulsions. Following her maternal instincts to save him, Laura commits unspeakable acts to keep him alive, but soon she must decide how far she is willing to go to save her son.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with the young actor Luke David Blumm. We talked about his attraction to horror and blood. Also, we discussed his very convincing acting abilities to portray convulsion on screen.
Luke David Blumm comes from a family of actors. He started with television parts in AMC’s The Walking Dead as Linus and HBO’s Watchmen as the newspaper boy. The following year, he played Harold in The King of Staten Island that starred Pete Davidson, and directed by Judd Apatow. Also, he played Eli in a few episodes in the mystery drama The Sinner on the USA Network.
Son is in theaters, On Demand, and on digital on Friday, March 5.
