Magic: The Gathering and D&D’s Forgotten Realms Crossover Launches on Magic: The Gathering Arena Today

Magic: The Gathering crossover with Forgotten Realms

For almost soon to be three decades, Magic: The Gathering collectible card game entertained millions of people both casually and competitively around the world. Now Dungeons & Dragons fans can rejoice as the popular card game issues its crossover set with Forgotten Realms cards with familiar characters, spells, and artifacts.

No doubt this will get tabletop gamers to take a break from their dice rolling into the card tapping arena with their favorite Forgotten Realms heroes and villains like Drizzt and Tiamat and monstrous creatures of beholders, mimics, and mind flayers.

The physical card packs and starter decks for the Forgotten Realms crossover launches later this month on July 23. There are plenty of cards to collect and pre-orders are being taken at your local game store and on Amazon.com.

Wizards of the Coast announced that the Magic: the Gathering Arena is now live with those playing cards. Players need to simply download the game and app to start playing today.

In celebration of its launch today, WotC released a launch trailer with some of the most well-known celebrity geeks who love Dungeons & Dragons.

They invited six celebrities to play (or pretend to play) in a Dungeons & Dragons escape room. The six participants must search the room full of D&D Easter eggs to find the six keys to unlock the exit door before their timer runs out.

The six celebrities in this launch trailer are Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood), Janina Gavankar (Star Wars: Battlefront II), Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille), Xolo Mariduena (Cobra Kai), Danny Trejo (Machete), and Joe Manganiello (True Blood).
