The latest Marvel Barside Buzz reiterates Mahershala Ali is still Blade and to expect Nova and Black Panther 3 talk at SDCC but no X-Men. This is the latest from insider Jeff Sneider on the newest edition of The Hot Mic with co-host John Rocha. We’ve already covered various rumors from both on the previous episode, but Jeff had a few new details to share this time around for the MCU.

Kevin Feige recently mentioned that he feels like a failure for not getting the Blade solo film off the ground. Some fans think Feige’s words hint that Mahershala Ali has moved on from the role (after only one voice line). Sneider says this is not true and that Ali is still Blade and will be coming to the MCU and that he’s in Midnight Sons which is 100% in development.

For what it’s worth other insiders have claimed he makes his debut in Secret Wars before next appearing in Midnight Sons, but you judge if that’s true or not?
Sneider also thinks that there will potentially be an announcement for the Nova film being written by Michael Waldron currently at SDCC this coming Saturday. Additionally he expects that Black Panther 3 will be talked about this weekend also at the convention.

However, one movies he’s been told not to expect to hear about at this weekend’s SDCC is X-Men from director Jake Schreier. As we know, casting is underway right now for X-Men and there has been some rumor that the cast could be announced this weekend. I’ve said elsewhere I doubt this unless the casting process has advanced far beyond the stage we are rumored to be at.
Sneider says one of his sources told him not to expect any X-Men content at SDCC. We have also shared a rumor previously from ApocHorseman who originally said SDCC, then wondered whether it was really D23 the cast would be announced, which seems more realistic.

Finally, Sneider said Doctor Strange is in Avengers: Doomsday. However, this isn’t a rumor at this point, he’s 100% in it and I could tell you what he does in the film if I was a jerk like that. This is why I’m not covering other more spoilery ‘rumors’ (really confirmed leaks) from other insiders for that film for now.
The only other thing he mentions Marvel wise is that he’s not heard about any casting news for X-Men characters Gambit, Jubilee and Kitty Pryde, therefore he has no idea if they are in the MCU’s X-Men reboot?
