The magic of relationships, am I right? One moment you are coming home from a fabulous evening and the next you are in a full-on argument. All because one or both are triggered by something that could be meaningless or something that could change things forever. But it’s all part of it. True it is usually better when it’s not ours.  This February, writer and director Sam Levinson gives us Malcolm & Marie on Netflix. Check out the trailer below!

Malcolm & Marie stars Zendaya as Marie and John David Washington as Malcolm. Below is the synopsis that is provided by Netflix.
Writer/Director Sam Levinson teams up with Zendaya and John David Washington for an achingly romantic drama in which a filmmaker (Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) return home following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what’s sure to be imminent critical and financial success. The evening suddenly takes a turn as revelations about their relationships begin to surface, testing the strength of their love.

Working with cinematographer Marcell Rev, Levinson creates a film of rare originality; an ode to the great Hollywood romances as well as a heartfelt expression of faith in the medium’s future.

Malcolm & Marie

It is a very intense trailer that had me feeling like an awkward third wheel in the middle of a couple’s argument. Given what we have seen from Washington and Zendaya so far in other films, I am excited to watch this film. Also, I would like to mention that the cinematography in this film looks really good. I especially like the fact that the film is in black and white.
