Mark Hamill Clears Up The Reason For A New Hope Reshoots

Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, took to his Twitter account to clear up some confusion. The misunderstanding had to do with the reason for last-minute reshoots on A New Hope. It was apparently stated in a recent article that the reason was that Hamill messed up his line during the Princess Leia rescue scene. According to Hamill, that is not what happened.

As it turns out the actual reason was that his character’s name was changed from Starkiller to Skywalker. You can check out Hamill’s tweet down below.

Hamill is always good for a Star Wars tweet. The actor, who went on to have a fantastic voice acting career has always shown love to both the franchise and the fanbase.

Most Star Wars fans know his character’s original last name was Starkiller and not Skywalker. Even though his name went through a change, the name Starkiller is still quite prominent in the Star Wars Universe. With the name showing up in the video game The Force Unleashed. Though, it’s perhaps best known for appearing in the first film of Disney’s sequel trilogy, The Force Awakens, as the massive star-system-destroying base of the First Order.
