Mark Millar has been very busy as of late. In the fall of last year we reported that with Millarworld being recently acquired by Netflix, Millar’s first comic book title under that banner would be The Magic Order, but that did not mean the end of his other established properties.

Next month, on February 14 through Image Comics, Millar will be debuting a new Kick-Ass series ten years after its original run. But there is a big difference between the two series, this one will not feature Dave Lizewski in the green and yellow costume.
This book will feature a new character in the title role named Patience Lee. She is an African-American military veteran with young children. Speaking of the character via Entertainment Weekly Millar said, “I don’t think I’ve ever created a better [character], I love mom heroes. I did it in Empress and I’ve done it again here.”
One of the things that will remain similar to the original title will be the artwork which will be once again be done by John Romita Jr., who recently has been working with DC Comics on Dark Nights: Metal.
With that said a lot of people via Twitter had been asking Millar which Hollywood star he would like to see play Patience Lee in a film. The name that jumped out to him was Thor: Ragnarok’s Tessa Thompson, who played the classic Valkyrie in the film.
A lot of fans asking who I'd want as this new Kick-Ass. To be honest, one choice really jumps out and that's @TessaThompson_x. https://t.co/h3llrt75qO

Being that he is the creator and writer for the new Kick-Ass it would be hard for anyone to debate his choice. But fans of the franchise will have to wait until next month to see if they feel the same way about his choice for the character. What do you think of the new Kick-Ass? Let us know in the comment section below!
Image Comic’s Kick-Ass #1 will be available in comic shops everywhere February 14, 2018.
