It is no shock the close bond many of the actors in the MCU have formed with each other. This is especially true with hose referred to as the “original six” Avengers: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner. Behind-the-scenes hijinks, comedic digital shorts, and numerous back-and-forth social media posts have been a standard amongst the actors portraying Earth’s mightiest heroes. And even with the events of Avengers: Endgame and certain members departing the universe, the friendship continues for a number of them… as does the entertainment.

And it was no different on this Independence Day. Ruffalo took to his Twitter account and sent out a special message to all his followers—a message that also incorporates Evans.

With the message “Happy Fourth Of July!” as the caption, the tweet features a clip from the Evans’ helmed comedy Not Another Teen Movie, where Evans’ character approaches a photo of himself in the high school hallway. However, in this edit, the photo of himself has been replaced with a shot of Evans’ derrière from the “Cap vs Cap” showdown in Avengers: Endgame. The scene has been referenced frequently since the film’s release due to its comedic nature—”that is America’s ass.” In response, Evans had nothing but laughter for Ruffalo’s “sentimental” tweet.
