Martha Kane Pregnant In Season 2 Of Pennyworth??? | DC FanDome

Pennyworth Season 1 Episode 107: Julie Christie

I am going to be honest, I didn’t think that a series on a young Alfred Pennyworth would work. But during Preview Night at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, I had the opportunity to watch the pilot episode of EPIX’s Pennyworth and was pleasantly surprised. Not to mention the fact that I was able to interview the cast and producers of the series. Pennyworth was a much larger story than just the story of Bruce Wayne’s future butler.

Today’s DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse event featured a Pennyworth panel. Attending the panel were Jack Bannon, Ben Aldridge, Emma Paetz, and Paloma Faith. Along with them were executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon. During the panel, they made a shocking revelation about the second season.

Heller shared that in the upcoming season of Pennyworth, Martha Kane is pregnant! No other details about this revelation were given at the time. It would seem that it would be too soon for Bruce Wayne, right? This is going to be very interesting to follow! It was also revealed during the previous DC FanDome event in August, that Lucius Fox will also be joining the series in the second season.

In addition to the actors already mentioned above, the second season will feature the return of Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson, Polly Walker, and Jason Flemyng. Joining the cast this season will be James Purefoy, Edward Hogg, Jessye Romeo, Ramon Tikaram, and Harriet Slater.

I’ve really enjoyed the 1960’s London setting where the series takes place. It will be interesting to see how Heller and Cannon continue to tell Pennyworth’s story while slowly adding the elements that will one day lead him to Bruce’s Butler. After watching the series, it almost seems like a bummer that he ends up in that life of servitude.

The first season of EPIX’s Pennyworth is available on their streaming service. There is currently not a release date for season two.
