Martha Plimpton and Garret Dillahunt unite again for Sprung. From the creator of Raising Hope. This time the duo is on a mission to accomplish the perfect crime.
They Synopsis
Sprung follows Jack (Garret Dillahunt, “12 Years a Slave”), a convicted criminal who is determined to turn his life around after serving more than two decades in prison. When he is unexpectedly released due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he quickly realizes he has no place to live. Jack shelters-in-place with former cellmate Rooster (Phillip Garcia, “Okja”), Rooster’s mom (Martha Plimpton, “The Goonies”), and Jack’s former prison girlfriend Gloria (Shakira Barrera, “Glow”). Their marred pasts and unusual living circumstances create a bond between them all, and they decide to start righting some of society’s wrongs that arise during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first target is Melvin (James Earl, “Fired Up”), an opportunist who alters his con based on supply and demand who has sparked a relationship with Wiggles (Clare Gillies, “Crazy Cat Lady”), Rooster’s ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, Congresswoman Paula Tackleberry (Kate Walsh, “Grey’s Anatomy”) is telling the public there’s nothing to worry about, whilst using inside information to sell millions in stock.
Star Martha Plimpton talent runs through her veins being the granddaughter of John Carradine and daughter of actors Keith Carradine and Shelley Plimpton. The 1980s was the decade that gave her fame. From landing a Calvin Klein campaign to being in some memorable films like The River Rat opposite Tommy Lee Jones, The Goonies, The Mosquito Coast with former boyfriend and the late River Phoenix and Parenthood with Steve Martin. Plimpton is also known for her love for theater and advocate for women’s rights.
