Welcome to Part 2 of the Marvel Barside Buzz and we have rumors of Wesley Snipes back as Blade, Avengers 5 having a smaller team and Galactus casting soon. I’ll start by pointing out that all of todays rumors come from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service. We will start with Snipes.
According to RPK Wesley Snipes has signed a deal with Marvel to reprise his role as Blade. For those worried this means no Mahershala Ali, that’s not the case. RPK says this is specifically for ‘multiple Mulitiversal’ projects that are in development. In other words Ali will still be playing the 616 version of the Daywalker in the upcoming Blade film.
This is not the first rumor that has suggested Snipes could return as a variant of Blade. One may assume within Secret Wars? However, we don’t really have the full picture yet. Perhaps we will know more post-Deadpool & Wolverine?
Our second rumor has RPK claim that a direction has been worked out for Avengers 5. As you know the script was being rewritten by Secret Wars writer Michael Waldron. The original (The Kang Dynasty) approach to this movie seemingly being scrapped. Now RPK claims that Avengers 5 will have a smaller team and no hint of Fantastic Four, yet. He actually said this specifically.
‘Smaller team, no Fantastic Four or a lot of the other new characters.’

To be honest that makes sense to me. Fantastic Four is out just before Avengers 5. I always felt like if the FF were going to show up in an Avengers movie then it would be Secret Wars.
As for Fantastic Four? RPK also claims that the Galactus casting will be finalized and announced soon. We know Javier Bardem was rumored as first choice. However, no one has actually leaked that he was in final talks or anything. Therefore, we could get an unexpected name announced, or not?
One final piece of news from this source. RPK claims that at one point Monica Rambeau/Photon was going to get her own project. However, since the poor performance of The Marvels it has been decided to continue Monica’s story within another project.
