Over the past few days, we have had quite a few Namor, aka The Sub-Mariner, rumors, including the potential for him to have his own film. This rumor by Reel News Hawaii insinuated that both Aquaman and some untitled project are being shot near the same location.

Fans have caught on to this, and while the status of Namor has been in limbo for decades due to fine print in various contracts, it does appear at least now that Marvel has his rights. So, instantly a petition has gone out for a casting of this ultra powered anti-hero, and at the forefront is Donnie Yen. Check out this twitter post and all of the fan’s reaction below, along with some very cool fan art.

So who is Donnie Yen one may ask? Well, he is a lightning-quick martial artist who you may remember in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as Chirrut ÃŽmwe, the blind monk. He is well known for his IP MAN movies overseas, and he also was in the most recent xXx movie.

The thing about Namor, if they truly go with his comic book powerset, is that he may be one of the most powerful beings Marvel could offer outside of Thor. In my opinion, he could wipe the floor with Aquaman, and do it before he broke a sweat. I think this would be a pretty good cast.
