Falcon and the Winter Soldier is currently filming, and rumors claim it is due to hit Disney+ in August of this year. I did wonder originally what show would be next. Both WandaVision and Loki looked to be the top contenders, but since the release dates are a little vague you never know. Then recently WandaVision was seemingly brought forward into 2020. The show is currently in production now and Loki as far as we knew was due to start sometime soon.
However, this weekend we got a report from scooper Charles Murphy, who said that production on Loki has actually already begun. Murphy has a pretty good record as scoopers go, and he seems adamant this is legit. So we have no real reason to doubt his report on this one, check it out.
I'm not sure that the right people will see this, but I can promise you that Loki did begin filming last week. I can't believe that people might not comprehend that these productions aren't always shot in public and that they use a stage at times, which is the case here.

It does still seem like WandaVision is much farther ahead of Loki, in fact, Murphy goes on to reference how WandaVision began long before location shots started showing up. We do expect Loki to have its fair share of location shooting also, but it is also reasonable to assume it has started in a more closed off environment i.e. a sound stage.
If Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set for around August, and WandaVision has been moved up to the back end of this year, it seems pretty certain that Loki will remain around Spring 2021 as first announced. The only real outlier here is the Hawkeye show. With all the rumors and counter rumors regarding delays, it’ll be interesting to see when that finally arrives, if ever.
Loki is set to feature Tom Hiddleston playing the alternate version of Loki that disappeared with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. The events of Loki will therefore perhaps have a little more freedom to play with the character. The events of Loki’s world do not have to match up to the rest of the MCU now after all. It is also going to be strange seeing a version of Loki who has not gone through the events of Thor: The Dark World or Ragnarok. That character, of course, died in Avengers: Infinity War.
