Moon Knight is going to make his first appearance in an upcoming Disney+ show, though based on comments from Marvel president Kevin Feige, he along with others could eventually end up appearing in films also. The show is only beginning to ramp up and today’s rumor is about who might play the titular character in that show.
According to Full Circle Cinema who have about as average a hit rate as most scoop sites, Marvel is looking at former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe for the role. Radcliffe may be an unusual choice, but then Moon Knight aka Marc Spector isn’t your normal superhero. Moon Knight has some complex psychological issues going on, and perhaps someone like Radcliffe would prove to be an interesting choice. Of course, Radcliffe is not the first name we have head linked with Moon Knight, there have also been rumors that former Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield was being looked at.
It seems as though Marvel is planning for Moon Knight to be played by a British actor, given the various rumors, but of course, until we hear something more solid, take any casting rumors with the usual hefty dose of salt. It may be some time before we have anything official and as such, I would guess that whilst they may be looking at Radcliffe, I am sure he is not the only actor being considered for the part.
Moon Knight has often been likened to Batman in many ways, but with perhaps even less of a grip on reality than the Caped Crusader has. It’s going to be interesting to see how Marvel handles this show within a PG-13 rating, which we know is the limit for all Disney+ shows. However, it remains one of the Disney+ projects I am most looking forward to.
