Marvel Studios Developing An Illuminati Project Rumor | LRM’s Barside Buzz

Is Marvel Studios developing an Illuminati project? Read on for more details.

If anyone does not know their Marvel comics, you probably think the Illuminati is some crazy conspiracy theory. However it is also a group of Marvel heroes who come together as being the brightest and the best, attempting to steer the world in the direction they wish. However, it things to do not always work out so well. The Illuminati tries to do good, but they have in the past ended up causing more problem than they fix. As far as the MCU goes, we only have a two members of the comic book Illuminati so far to use.

Those are Doctor Strange, and Black Panther, with the only other ‘current’ MCU character being Tony Stark, but his fate is sealed in the MCU. As for the comics, other members included Namor, Black Bolt, Professor X, and Reed Richards. None of these characters have yet appeared in the MCU, but we know that Professor X and Reed Richards will eventually. As for the others, that remains to be seen.

This rumor comes from The Illuminerdi, which is somewhat ironic as I always though they named themselves after this group in a small way? Anyway, the outlet says their sources have indicated that Marvel boss Kevin Feige is actively developing an Illuminati project. In fact, the outlet says this project will be titled ‘Marvel’s Illuminati’. They don’t know much else right now other than this is in very early stages of development and that no talent is attached other than Feige himself.

Marvel Studios developing an Illuminati project

So far, the outlet don’t know whether this would be a movie, or a Disney+ show either? One would assume if this rumor is true, Marvel’s Illuminati would be aimed a bit further down the line. It would be strange to introduce this group, before the likes of Reed Richards, Namor and Professor X show up. As always, take any rumors with a pinch of salt. However, The Illuminerdi has a decent hit rate so far with Marvel scoops. This could be something Feige is just starting to develop i.e. early information. As for where an Illuminati story could go, it’s hard to say? One would assume it would involve the group meddling in World affairs and the results not being exactly as they had hoped.

The one story I remember most clearly from the comics is the exiling of Hulk to space. That is, until Hulk came back and kicked everyone’s ass in the ‘World War Hulk’ comic. That’s the kind of story I guess I most associate with this group. The Illuminati mean well, but who are they to make decisions that affect the whole world. They may be the brightest lights, but that is still a form of control, which means dictatorship ultimately to me. It would certainly be an interesting way to explore some of our heroes in a different light, wouldn’t it?

What do you think of this rumor, is Marvel Studios developing an Illuminati project? If they are, what would you hope to see from it? Leave your thoughts below as always.
