Today’s Barside Buzz says Marvel wants RDJ to remain as Doom post-Secret Wars, plus a rumor they’ve already cast Ghost Rider. The information comes from Daniel RPK on his Patreon service.
Daniel claims he’s heard Marvel really wants RDJ to remain as Doctor Doom within the MCU post-Secret Wars. Now, I think if this is true it will please many fans, like me, who don’t want Doom to be a one and done. Doom should be recurring villain for years ideally. However, RDJ is the most expensive actor for Marvel also. The man literally sells tickets and he knows it.
Therefore, I think the biggest issue I can see is making it financially worthwhile to RDJ to keep turning up every couple of years when they need Doctor Doom. That being said, the role isn’t going to be ‘always available’. Therefore, it means Downey can work on passion projects, yet still drop back into the MCU for a payday every now and then. It could possible work.

Secondly without knowing the name of the actor, Daniel says he’s heard the role of Ghost Rider has been cast now. Rumors were he may show up in Doomsday/Secret Wars. However, he’s definitely going to be needed with Mephisto now in the MCU. Without a name though, this is a tricky claim to ever verify. Guess we will wait and see who gets rumored?
Finally Daniel also says Blade is now schedule to begin shooting in 2026. However, again, let’s just pinch of salt with Blade until we get confirmation it’s really happening this time.
So, where do you stand? Does it makes sense that Marvel wants RDJ to remain as Doctor Doom post-Secret Wars? Do you think Ghost Rider being cast means he will appear in Doomsday? Let us know below.
