Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger on Freeform has just finished its first season run, and it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con this year that it had been renewed for a second season.
It was expected that filming would not begin for some time yet for this second season. However, in a report from Omega Underground, they learned that filming is set to begin this September and will be returning to New Orleans, Louisiana. The first season was solely set in New Orleans, and it would feel strange to not have the leads be in that city again.
This would suggest that Cloak and Dagger Season 2 should hit screen around spring/summer 2019, which would be roughly one year from the first season, assuming another 10 episode run.
I’m not exactly sure what I thought of Cloak and Dagger, at first it was better than I expected, but by the end it didn’t quite meet the expectations I had formed throughout. It took a little time to get into the swing of things and whilst I was fine with the slow build up, the finale didn’t get match my own imagination.
The good thing is that the showrunners have promised Season 2 will get a bit crazier and that’s exactly what this show needs. There were some small hints at what’s to come and I am really interested to see how crazy they can get with some of the potential villains down the line.
