Marvel’s Defenders Gets A Series Of Motion Posters & One Standard Poster

We have just under two months until Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist unite to defend New York City in the upcoming limited series The Defenders. This has been a long time coming for the Marvel and Netflix franchise. Just as The Avengers was the culmination of everything on the big screen, The Defenders will serve as a culmination of everything that’s come from the four show and five seasons of television since 2015.

Thus far, we’ve seen a couple of teasers (the first of which was just a shot in the elevator), and from what we can tell, they’re really selling this group as a ragtag group. Unlike The Avengers, they don’t quite have the same polish you’d expect of most big superheroes, and they’re looking to capitalize on that for the new motion posters and poster.

Check them out below!

Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of the aesthetics here. I enjoy the music playing the background (which we already saw in the trailer), as well as that somewhat campy “we don’t give a s**t” attitude they have going on there, but from a visual standpoint, it all looks a bit cheap. The poster itself seems to be the biggest offender. Perhaps it’s the way they’re posed, or the faces they’re giving, but something feels a bit off. As someone who’s a fan of the shows, I kind of get what they’re going for, but I’m not sure it’ll do much to convince anyone who’s uninitiated that it’s worth watching.

But of course, that’s just my opinion. What’s yours? Do you like what Marvel and Netflix have done with these posters? Let us know in the comments down below!

The Defenders hits Netflix on August 18, 2017.
