Marvel’s What If…? animated show hits Disney+ sometime this Summer. The show will follow a series of what if scenarios with the known MCU heroes. What would happen if Agent Carter had gotten the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers. What if the Guardians of the Galaxy were a different team? So far all the many details of the story’s have been kept mostly under wraps, though we always knew zombies were coming.

We have a T-shirt showing Zombie Captain America, and one showing Party Thor. The idea behind Party Thor seems to be that the God of Thunder landed in Las Vegas and not New Mexico. Those appear to be Vegas landmarks in the background of the image. There is also a Party Thor baseball cap and one showing one of The Watchers. Could it be The Watchers who tie this multiversal ‘what if’ tale together?

Gamora is likely the only familiar Guardian here. I can’t see that being Peter Quill under that Star Lord outfit. There’s also Killmonger, a Carter version of Captain Britain, Party Thor, Doctor Strange, a Watcher, and Black Widow.
I’ve never really read much of the else worlds stuff from Marvel or DC, so I’m excited about the crazy places this What If…? show could go. I’m especially unsure how we get to zombie Captain America? The only zombies I’ve ever cared for are the magical ones found in fantasy stories. The pseudo-scientific variants we see in most zombie movies never appealed to me. However, this is the MCU and magic is most certainly a thing. In fact magic is one of the well established big three of wizards, robots or aliens as per the New Captain America Sam Wilson.
