According to the latest Star Wars Barside Buzz Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast as Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka. The information comes from Bespin Bulletin who claim to have got the information from their sources. Hera has long been rumored to be coming into the live-action world following her run on Star Wars: Rebels. Fans also think they glimpsed a shot of Hera in the brief footage that’s been shown of Ahsoka so far. However there was no indication who the actor playing Hera would be.
However, there has been rumors for quite a while now that Mary Elizabeth Winstead, real life wife of Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor would be joining her hubby in the Star Wars Universe. It was just not known that these two rumors were connected until now. Of course, that’s if this story checks out. However, BB has a good hit rate for leaks, so my guess is this is legit.
LRM were one of the first outlets that heard a live-action Hera was coming. At the time we had heard Hera was being considered as a replacement for Cara Dune in Rangers of the New Republic. However as we know now, the decision was made to delay or cancel that show for. Since then, we had no information other than Hera was coming eventually to something in live-action.
Here is what BB had to say,
I can report that I’ve heard from my sources that the speculation is correct and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is playing the live-action version of the fan-favourite character, Hera Syndulla.

As said above, I would be staggeringly surprised if this news is not 100% correct. My guess is that Here will be revealed in the final trailers before Ahsoka airs. As for when Ahsoka will air? We don’t really know. However, My guess within the related article above is around Fall of 2023, with Skeleton Crew being the last of the Star Wars 2023 slate.
