One of the surprises of last year’s new crop of television shows was Mayans M.C, the spin-off of FX’s wildly popular Sons of Anarchy. The show is set within the Sons Of Anarchy universe after the events of Jax Teller’s final ride, and follows Ezequiel “EZ” Reyes, a prospect for the Mayans motorcycle club.

The show’s sophomore season is just around the corner and with that comes the teaser that you can watch at the top of the article. With Ezequiel’s new outlook on life, as well as the big reveal of the finale, Ezequiel Reyes is a man at the beginning of a his journey, one that may take him over the edge.

Mayans M.C. I find Ezequiel Reyes to be a more likable character than Jax Teller, easier to get behind and root for him anyway. Yeah, most of the time Jax was at least a decent person, if not better, and shown to even have a pretty big heart, but he did lose himself at times and walk the line of psycopath. EZ, as they call him, he doesn’t appear to have any such tendencies, at least so far, but who knows where the events of future seasons may push him.

As for those spoliers I mentioned above, the Season 1 finale revealed that Sons of Anarchy favorite Happy Lowman, is the man that killed Ezequiel’s mother. This will surely throw a wrench into the alliance between the Sons and the Mayans.

The second season of Mayans M.C.  premieres on FX September 3.
