This week Paramount+ released the first trailer for their upcoming series, Mayor of Kingstown. While it’s been nice to see Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye over in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it will be nice to see him in something different. Here he will take on the role of Mike McLusky, the mayor of the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan where the prison is the only thriving business. Check out the trailer below
In the trailer for Mayor of Kingstown, we see that McLusky is giving advice to someone that has recently come into town. Warning them that they won’t make it in Kingstown. The trailer then goes on to show some of the prison systems that obviously have a lot of problems. Also, it notes that McLusky has been wanting to leave Kingstown for a long time, but for reasons that will probably be revealed later, has been stuck.
Here is the synopsis for Mayor of Kingstown
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family. Power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN will be executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari and Michael Friedman
